At last!

It's been years since I last bought something from Mango, like most fast fashion stores, they carry few cotton pieces (excluding t-shirts), and when they do, they're priced higher than I'd like to spend. I wouldn't say the quality of their clothes is bad, just.. barely above satisfactory.

Anyway, I was browsing their website as it occurred to me it's been a long time since I last shopped there, and found this on sale (they're having their mid-season sale now). I've always wanted a shirt-dress; they're a good option for an easy smart casual look.

It ticked all the boxes; made of cotton, under $30, A-line skirt, available in dark colors and in my size! I was so excited, I went to Mango at Westgate the next day. I found it on the sales rack, but the largest size displayed was L, which was a little too tight in the hips for me.

Shops usually display all the sizes all on their racks, especially when it comes to sales items, but I figured there was no harm in asking. Their response was the textbook "Everything is already there, but I'll double check for you"... Imagine how happy I was when they said they managed to find XL, and in black!

I actually wanted to get the dress in both black and navy, but I've too many clothes in navy anyway, and black is so much easier to match with, so I'm happy nonetheless! The neckline is a little low for me, but it's easily fixed with a safety-pin so it's nothing. Can't wait to see what Mango has for their next sale, I hope I can get this blouse next!

Goodbye t-shirts, hello adulthood.

I love Threadless tees; I used to buy lotsa them everytime there was a sale or free shipping offer. That was back when I didn't work in an office. I've since stopped, in an attempt to dress like an adult (I try, I really do). As you can see, from my lack of posts, I'm all about being an adult now cuz I'm swamped with work and other adult-y stuff.

And yet, I couldn't stop myself from browsing, y'know, out of nostalgia. And I saw this. I love it, but I should go look at A-line skirts and plain, solid-colored tops instead.

Better late than never.

It's hard to believe it's been almost half a year since I last blogged, time flies by too fast! I have been browsing and shopping online for clothes, but haven't really found anything worth bookmarking. Almost all of my recent clothing purchases come from Uniqlo. I've become even more budget-conscious, and my wardrobe is sort of maturing I guess, so I'm more into basics now. Asos hasn't had much that caught my eye either (too clingy, too short, not cotton, etc.), and if there's something I like, it's usually too pricey for me to justify the purchase. Qoo10 has a few sellers selling cotton dresses, but the reviews these sellers receive are mostly negative since most of these clothes are made in China. The items rarely come as pictured, and frankly, as cheap as they might be, I'm not keen on taking the risk.

I'm happy though, to have found a seller on Qoo10 selling self-manufactured printed cotton dresses: Charmed on 9th Ave. Majority of them are sleeveless, which is a shame as I wish there were more sleeved pieces, but welp, can't complain! Here are some of the pieces I've my eye on:
